25 Days of Advent Daily Scripture Reading – Day 22

Our daily Scripture reading for the 25 Days of Advent Bible Study Series is Luke 1:46-56:

Mary’s Song of Praise: The Magnificat

⁴⁶And Mary said,

“My soul magnifies the Lord,
⁴⁷    and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
⁴⁸for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.
    For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
⁴⁹for he who is mighty has done great things for me,
    and holy is his name.
⁵⁰And his mercy is for those who fear him
    from generation to generation.
⁵¹He has shown strength with his arm;
    he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;
⁵²he has brought down the mighty from their thrones
    and exalted those of humble estate;
⁵³he has filled the hungry with good things,
    and the rich he has sent away empty.
⁵⁴He has helped his servant Israel,
    in remembrance of his mercy,
⁵⁵as he spoke to our fathers,
    to Abraham and to his offspring forever.”

⁵⁶And Mary remained with her about three months and returned to her home.

25 Days of Advent Reflections & Commentary – Day 22

Mary’s Song & Prophecy

In today’s lesson of the 25 Days of Advent Bible Study Series, we get to indulge in Mary’s song and prophecy (Luke 1:46-56):

Honestly, there’s nothing for me to add to elaborate on here.

Let me encourage you to go back and read the words of Mary’s song a second time.

This song is beautiful and speaks to the heart and soul of Mary.

I pray you have a song, like Mary’s, in your heart towards the Lover of your soul. May it be used as praise, prophecy, and positioning.

25 Days of Advent Prayer – Day 22

Pray this with me for our 25 Days of Advent Prayer:

Dear Lord, I thank you for your fulfillment of Luke 1:46-56.

This is a constant reminder of the sacredness of the birth of Jesus, the Messiah, which was prophesied about previously. This Scripture is the fulfillment of those prophecies.

May a song like Mary’s rise up out of me that fully expresses my gratitude, appreciation, and love for the Lord for the things He has done and the favor He extends to me and my family.

Help me to be sensitive to the move of the Holy Spirit in my life, so I don’t miss such precious, gracious moments.

May our hearts keep the focus on Christ’s birth, purpose, and fulfillment, during this Holy Season.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
