25 Days of Advent Daily Scripture Reading – Day 3
Our daily Scripture reading for the 25 Days of Advent Bible Study Series is Psalm 2:7 and Proverbs 30:4:
I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
(Psalm 2:7)
Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son’s name, if thou canst tell?
(Proverbs 30:4)

25 Days of Advent Reflections & Commentary – Day 3
Declared as the Son of God
In today’s lesson of the 25 Days of Advent Bible Study Series, we discovered the foretelling of the Messiah being declared the Son of God (Psalm 2:7 and Proverbs 3:4).
This is later fulfilled in the New Testament.
Here’s what we know in these Scriptures:
We have two passages proclaiming the coming Messiah is to be declared the son of God. And in one of those passages of Scripture, it talks about the mighty things God has done and asks what is His son’s name?
Our Mighty God has:
- Ascended into Heaven and came down
- Gathered the wind in His fists
- Wrapped up the waters in a garment
- Established the ends of the earth
This is a full declaration that there is a Son of God and He was to come at an appointed time. Because we know Jesus is the Son of God, we can also see Jesus doing many of the things described above, which further proved His deity.
Throughout Jesus’ life, His deity was on display doing mighty works just like his Father did. And what’s more, He said we’d do even greater works!
25 Days of Advent Prayer – Day 3
Pray this with me for our 25 Days of Advent Prayer:
Dear Lord, I thank you for your fulfillment of Psalm 2:7 and Proverbs 30:4.
Jesus the Messiah was prophesied about in this Scripture as being the only begotten Son of God.
Because of this, as a Son of God, Jesus both ascended into heaven and came down, He wrapped up the waters in His garment, and He established the ends of the earth.
And He will reign forever and ever in eternal Glory — and we will have the pleasure of worshiping Him forever!
May our hearts keep the focus on Christ’s birth, purpose, and fulfillment during this Holy Season.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Minister Sirena Reece says
So glad to know, that we too by the hand of God, through Christ Jesus in His name can do greater works, Jesus said so., if we live right, what can lay hands on the sick, raise the dead and open the eyes of the blind, must have God’s anointing work on the inside of you , an order to do greater works.
