Today is the DAY 3 of our Proverbs 31 Woman Prayer & Affirmation Challenge! We are going to be praying through Proverbs 31:11-12
The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
In yesterday’s prayer & affirmation, we focused on the deeper meaning of virtuous and our worth as rubies. You can get caught up with yesterday’s lesson here!
Remember, each day’s prayers are 100% based upon the verses found in Proverbs 31:10-31. In this way, our prayers, affirmations, and confessions are aligned with scripture will help us to become more a virtuous woman. (aka our “Virtuous Woman Prayers.”)
Many call this “praying through scripture.” It’s very foundational in praying prayers that God hears and answers. (Please see 1 John 5:14-15 for more on this.)
Today’s video lesson we will be praying and affirming about what it means to become that “good thing” to our (future) husbands and why this is so important to him and our marriage. “Goodness” is a fruit of the spirit and one we should work diligently to cultivate daily — not just to be excellent (future) wives, but to be excellent women of God and human beings!
If you are also going through our Proverbs 31 Woman Bible Study, then today’s lesson pairs perfectly with Day 3 of that study!

Proverbs 31 Woman Prayer & Affirmation Challenge – Day 3
Prayer
Thank you for creating me to be my (future) husband’s “good thing.” Help me to bring goodness (prosperity, great fortune, good welfare, and happiness) to his life, at all times.
May my thoughts, words, and actions line up to Your definition of good and not the world’s.
I desire for the heart of my (future) husband to trust safely in me and because of this, he has no lack of gain. Help me to be found trustworthy in all things. I don’t want my (future) husband to have a reason to ever doubt my motives towards him or our family.
Also, when people leave my presence, I desire for them to be more prosperous, have greater fortune, be in better welfare, and much happier!
I want my loyalty to speak for itself. Though I know it will be tested in good, bad, and trying times, I’m confident that with your leading, I know my loyalty will be proved and a reflection of your Glory.
At the end of the day, I want to be a blessing to my (future) husband. I can only do that through you, Lord. So please help, keep, and guide me.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Confession & Affirmation
I am a “Good Thing” to my (future) husband.
I am a “Good Thing” to all whom I encounter.
I am trustworthy.
I am loyal.
I am a gift.
I am a blessing.
Today, I choose to walk in the revelation of that knowledge and truth. I bring prosperity, great fortune, good welfare, and happiness to my (future) husband’s life.
I also bring prosperity, great fortune, better welfare, and happiness to the lives of others.
My (future) husband’s heart safely trusts in me and he has no lack of gain. I will always do my (future) husband good and not evil, all the days of my life. He will see the Glory of the Lord revealed to him through my “goodness.”
I decree and declare this over my life, as according to Proverbs 31:11-12
And it is so — Amen.

The Holy Spirit is revealing to me that after 30 years of working hard to be my husband’s good thing and getting dumped for a guy, I am not ready to trust any guy enough to even attempt to be his good thing. I need time to heal more and trust the Lord to send me the right person I could trust, if that is possible. Maybe someday, but in the meantime I can be a good thing to my friends and those the Lord leads me to.
Donna says
I want to continue being a good thing, trustworthy, loyal, a gift and a blessing to all that know me and I will continue being my husband’s good thing by supporting, loving and helping him always be the best of him that he can be.
