Today is the DAY 5 of our Proverbs 31 Woman Prayer & Affirmation Challenge! We are going to be praying through Proverbs 31:14
She is like the ships of the merchant;
she brings her food from afar.
In yesterday’s prayer & affirmation, we focused on what it means to be a willing, eager worker, as well as our attitude about work. You can get caught up with yesterday’s lesson here!
Remember, each day’s prayers are 100% based upon the verses found in Proverbs 31:10-31. In this way, our prayers, affirmations, and confessions are aligned with scripture will help us to become more a virtuous woman. (aka our “Virtuous Woman Prayers.”)
Many call this “praying through scripture.” It’s very foundational in praying prayers that God hears and answers. (Please see 1 John 5:14-15 for more on this.)
Today’s video lesson we will be praying and affirming about what it means to go to great lengths to nourish, nurture, and tend the needs of your family. We need to be sure we have the proper priority and place of family in our lives — they deserve our ‘best firsts’ and not our ‘worst lasts.’
If you are also going through our Proverbs 31 Woman Bible Study, then today’s lesson pairs perfectly with Day 5 of that study!

Proverbs 31 Woman Prayer & Affirmation Challenge – Day 5
Prayer
Lord, help me to go to great lengths to nourish, nurture, and tend the needs of my family. Help me to take care of the precious hearts and souls You’ve entrusted to me. I desire to be a woman who always has the best interests of my family in mind.
I desire to be like the merchant ships — that I will go to great lengths, finding opportunities to access and learn from people not like me and my cultural background. And from there, I will share my culture with them and their culture with my family.
Help me to develop the character traits of commitment and dedication as the heartbeat of tending to my family. I know this is not based upon my feelings at that particular moment, but it’s based love and the desire to meet my family’s needs no matter what.
Help me to keep this holy and righteous perspective.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Good Morning,
I want to thank you for this Prayer and Confession Challenge. It has really changed in five days so far. I am a couple of days behind but that is okay because God is not a God of rushing through but taking time to communicate with Him.
I just want to say thank you!

My children are grown but, I still have an over whelming desire to nourish them. I guess that comes with being a mom. There are so many things I need to share with them, especially my husband and oldest son,who question the validity of the Bible. My oldest son became a Christian when he was 6,now he’s 27 and not sure where he stands in regard to God. He believes in a higher power, but not so sure there’s a living God. He has said he accepted Jesus because he thought that was the right thing to do. I need to Nurture and help him get on track, but my husband is a nonchristain as well. He likes to pick and choose what the Bible has to say..Mt youngest son who is 23 is a Christian and a missionary for College/Campus students. He has spoken many times with both my husband and my oldest. We both want our family to be United as 1 in Christ. But, how??We seem to always end with arguing, and it breaks my heart immensely. My family has been praying for John many years, and Jake as well. I keep looking for opportunities to share Jesus, but seems like our enemy keeps getting in the way

I tend to stay pretty dedicated and committed to my family and their needs and as I am going through changing jobs and want to make sure that I don’t lose sight of my family needs while I am trying to land a new job.
