Today is the DAY 13 of our Proverbs 31 Woman Prayer & Affirmation Challenge! We are going to be praying through Proverbs 31:26-27
She opens her mouth with wisdom,
And on her tongue is the law of kindness. She watches over the ways of her household,
And does not eat the bread of idleness.
In yesterday’s prayer & affirmation, we focused on what it means to go to great lengths to nourish, nurture, and tend the needs of your family. You can get caught up with yesterday’s lesson here!
Remember, each day’s prayers are 100% based upon the verses found in Proverbs 31:10-31. In this way, our prayers, affirmations, and confessions are aligned with Scripture and will help us to become more of a virtuous woman (aka our “Virtuous Woman Prayers”).
Many call this “praying through Scripture.” It’s very foundational in praying prayers that God hears and answers. (Please see 1 John 5:14-15 for more on this.)
Today’s video lesson we will be praying and affirming about using our mouths to speak wisdom, life, and kindness. The words we speak are POWERFUL! And we should use them to Glorify God by encouraging, inspiring, and edifying others.
If you are also going through our Proverbs 31 Woman Bible Study, then today’s lesson pairs perfectly with Day 13 of that study!

Proverbs 31 Woman Prayer & Affirmation Challenge – Day 13
Prayer
Lord, help me to use my mouth to speak wisdom, life, and kindness. I desire for my words to be purposeful and to tell of my character and Godliness.
I refuse to gossip, backbite, slander, or compare myself to others. I want to change the narrative that women are catty, “nice-nasty” towards one another, and can’t get along. That’s simply not true.
Please surround with me Godly women who choose to operate in the Proverbs 31 Woman way. If nothing else, please use me to bless other women with my words.
Also, I don’t want to eat the bread of idleness. I want to be so caught up in Jesus and God’s plans for my life that being idle or a busybody is a non-factor. That’s a distraction to my calling and purpose. It’s an injustice to my family, the Body of Christ, and the Kingdom of God.
I want to walk as the Godly, virtuous Proverbs 31 Woman You’ve called me to be!
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Confession & Affirmation
My mouth speaks wisdom, life, and kindness.
My words are purposeful and tell of my character and Godliness.
I do not gossip, backbite, slander, or compare myself to others.
I am changing the negative narrative of women, into the Godly, holy, and righteous purpose of women.
I am not an idle, busybody. I am so caught up in Jesus and God’s plans for my life that there is no time to waste on non-essential activities or conversations.
I am a purposeful and intentional encourager of women.
My words give life and speak to the virtue of every woman I encounter.
I decree and declare this over my life, as according to Proverbs 31:26-27
And it is so — Amen.

I am a teacher. If we do go back into our building in the fall, I plan to be more intentional in giving praise and compliments to my coworkers everyday. Sometimes we take our friends for granted, too and never say something nice to them. I want to start letting them know how much I appreciate them.
Angelica says
What a wonderful idea, Gloria! You are so right — it’s so easy to take our friends for granted. Thanks for reminding us to step up! ❤
