Today is the DAY 4 of our Proverbs 31 Woman Prayer & Affirmation Challenge! We are going to be praying through Proverbs 31:13
She seeks wool and flax,
And willingly works with her hands.
In yesterday’s prayer & affirmation, we focused on what it means to become that “good thing” to our (future) husbands and why this is so important to him and our marriage. You can get caught up with yesterday’s lesson here!
Remember, each day’s prayers are 100% based upon the verses found in Proverbs 31:10-31. In this way, our prayers, affirmations, and confessions are aligned with scripture will help us to become more a virtuous woman. (aka our “Virtuous Woman Prayers.”)
Many call this “praying through scripture.” It’s very foundational in praying prayers that God hears and answers. (Please see 1 John 5:14-15 for more on this.)
Today’s video lesson we will be praying and affirming about what it means to be a willing, eager worker, as well as our attitude about work. It’s important for us to understand that work is a gift and we should have a holy perspective about our work — no matter how glorious or mundane it is.
If you are also going through our Proverbs 31 Woman Bible Study, then today’s lesson pairs perfectly with Day 4 of that study!

Proverbs 31 Woman Prayer & Affirmation Challenge – Day 4
Prayer
Lord, help me to be a willing, eager worker and to be diligent to find the best for my family — then put my hands to work with it.
I desire to have a good attitude and a holy perspective of my work.
I know that it is a gift to enjoy my labor, so help me to enjoy even the most seemingly mundane tasks of my day. Whether they are washing dishes, taking care of the laundry, scrubbing toilets, answering to a difficult boss, working with challenging coworkers, employees, or clients, and even being a taxi-mom — help me to see this work through your eyes, as perfecting me for our glorious days in Eternity.
I’ll admit, I don’t always like all the work I have to do, but I’m thankful for it. It’s a reminder of your love for me because work is a gift.
On days when work is hard or I’m challenged to find any holiness out of it, please remind me to work, as if I’m working unto you. This certainly changes my heart’s perspective in that moment.
Finally, Lord help me to bring my BEST work to my home and family. I desire to seek only what you consider valuable, bring it home, and then work willingly and eagerly with my hands for the good of my family and household.
Thank you for the gift of work.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

This was really and eye opener for me, I didn’t not know work was a gift. If I vowed word as how the Lord sees it, I would have been at the same work for years now, some of them was not enjoyable, but with my hands I’m wonderful , around the house, scrubbing toilets, which was for work once upon a time, I really see it now and will do a lot better for my gift of work.

Hello!
I truly want to thank you for this Lesson. I know that I work for the Lord but sometimes I do forget to look at a situation through with spiritual eyes and/or my job with a Holy perspective.
I will bring this before the Lord and ask Him to give me a Holy perspective about the work I do because I truly do love my job.
Thank You,
Debret

I needed this this morning as I rise to prepare to go to a job that everyday I spend so much time wishing I did not have to go to. It’s not that it is terrible but I struggle to see where I am utilizing my gifts. So realizing that my work IS a gift is another perspective that I will have to adopt. God bless!

My work is packing up my classroom . I missed saying goodbye to my students..1st graders who just want hugs. They don’t get why they can’t get out of the car to give hugs… its hard both physically and emotionally.

I really needed this today. I have let a negative attitude affect my work. My husband and I own a small business and I homeschool our daughter. Often, I am overwhelmed. I need to put on a attitude if gratitude while trusting God to direct my work for the day. I will spending more time on this particular lesson and renew my mind.
Angelica says
You can do this, SisterFriend! I believe in you!

I work in a factory, and I’m a crewleader, and sometimes have 27 to 30 people under me…some days are difficult, and listening to all the complaining about the other workers, is so childish, these are adults, and mostly women…I just recently went back to work in June after losing my husband, the love of my life, to 2 different kinds of cancer…it was such a shock when we received the news, and he lasted 6 weeks, so it was very sudden, never had anytime to process the news and he was gone, my heart was broken, and still is, and returning to work and trying to get some normal back in my life…and trying to deal with difficult co-workers is trying…life is too short…but I enjoy my job and take pride in it, and I work as onto the Lord, and keep reminding myself about that…and do the best job and be the best me I can be…Thank you so much for this bible study…God Bless you…Please pray for me, and pray for the peace of God to cover me every day…And that God would mend my broken heart…
Angelica says
Dearest Beverly… we are so very sorry to hear about the loss of your husband, SisterFriend. Please know we are praying for your heart.
