25 Days of Advent Daily Scripture Reading – Day 17
Our daily Scripture reading for the 25 Days of Advent Bible Study Series is Malachi 4:2-3:
2 But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall. 3 And you shall tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day when I act, says the Lord of hosts.

The Sun of Righteousness
In today’s lesson of the 25 Days of Advent Bible Study Series, we discovered the foretelling of the Messiah as being the Sun of Righteousness (Malachi 4:2-3):
This is later fulfilled in the New Testament.
Here’s what we know in this Scripture:
Jesus was prophesied about as being the Sun of Righteousness or the one who would vindicate on behalf of all the saints and the children of God.
The reason for Him being described as being the “Sun” is because the sun shines brightly, it provides clarity, and it hides from no one.
The vindication of the Lord will shine brightly, provide clarity, and hide from no one — nobody can escape it! (Definitely not our enemies!)
He will avenge for all of us!
We have the Sun of Righteousness (the Son of Vindication) on our side. There’s no one and nothing that can run away from it!
25 Days of Advent Prayer – Day 17
Pray this with me for our 25 Days of Advent Prayer:
Dear Lord, I thank you for your fulfillment of Malachi 4:2-3.
Jesus the Messiah was prophesied about in this Scripture as being the Sun of Righteousness.
In other words, Jesus is the “Son of Vindication.” He is coming to vindicate and avenge on behalf of God’s people and will judge all sin.
This vindication will be bright, clear, and noticeable to all like the brightness of the morning sun.
May our hearts keep the focus on Christ’s birth, purpose, and fulfillment during this Holy Season.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
