Proverbs 31 Woman Bible Study – Day 12 Overview
Are You Enterprising?
The Proverbs 31 Woman was enterprising!
She used her skills, as a seamstress or dressmaker and sold her items – much like a direct retailer, where she makes and sells her clothing directly.
She was also a consignor, by bringing her designed items to other merchants to sell for her.
Here we see she has different ways of bringing in additional income to her household, in a way that does not compromise her values.
I believe there is a reason why we don’t hear much about her enterprising abilities until this far into the scripture. It is because God wants to send us a clear and very important message.
That is a message about keeping our priorities in focus and having our homes in order.
If we notice, the Proverbs 31 Woman took care of home FIRST and THEN she went out and became a great enterpriser, businesswoman, and entrepreneur.
She was a willing eager worker, she respected her husband, she reached out to those in need, she was organized and prepared for all the seasons of life.
She took care of home as an excellent homemaker and then she went out and did business.
Our focus must be on “home” first. Once home is established and running well, then God will open up doors for you to move and do other things – like start a business!
Your profitability in business and other enterprising ventures, will be a direct reflection of the profitability of your home.
I truly believe if you want the anointing, grace, and favor of God to show up in your business, take care of home first!
Be great at home, so you can be great when you are out representing your home!
Strength & Honor Are Her Name
Let’s dig around in this a bit!
The word “strength” is the Hebrew word “`oz.”
Here’s what it means:
- Splendor
- Majesty
The word “honor” is the Hebrew word “hadar”
Here’s what it means:
- A holy ornament
- Glory
- Splendor
Let’s replace these words within the verse Proverbs 31:25. . .
Splendor, majesty, and holy ornaments are her clothing.
POWERFUL!

I invite you to take a look!
Think for a moment about the first thing we notice about others. In many cases it’s their clothing.
It could be nice clothing, old clothing, tattered clothing. It doesn’t matter. Usually when we are describing someone we don’t know, we’ll talk about something they are wearing – shirt, hat, sunglasses, etc.
Wouldn’t it be awesome if the first thing people noticed about you were your spiritual garments – those of strength (splendor, majesty) and honor (holy ornaments)?
We are called to be living epistles of Christ and to walk uprightly. We want people to see God’s goodness on us and to be adorned in His Glory!
Remember. . . for some people, you are the only Bible they will ever read. So let’s make that one encounter impactful!
Smile About Tomorrow
The Proverbs 31 Woman rejoices!
It’s important to keep your attitude in a position of joy!
This doesn’t mean you cannot have down days or have moments where you are not happy. We’re human with real emotions.
However happiness and joy are different.
Happiness is circumstantial.
Joy is eternal. It comes from a holy source that only God can give you through Christ.
So, let God’s joy radiate through you and cause a smile to show up on your face!
This makes you approachable to others who may need a kind word, encouragement, or want to encourage you! (You just never know!)
Keep the Lord at the center of your joy! He’ll keep a smile on your countenance!

Day 12, got alittle behind, but getting caught up! Loved today’s study. I am still thinking on what I might do to bless my family with extra income, I thought about doing 1 thing, but am slowly not leaming in that direction so much anymore. But, praying on it and am putting some thought into it. Thank you & God Bless you!

Twaneesa Davis says
I’m work in the corporate world and because of the high demand, it means working long hours. I need to make sure I’m making my home a priority because working long hours mean I’m tired when I come home and I’m too tired to cook and do other things. I need to ask the Holy Spirit how yo keep my priorities together to ensure I’m not putting work over home.

I have really been getting a lot out of this study each day, it has been very eye awakening and helpful bringing into our time and culture. Thank you for this blessing. For some reason my emails of the daily videos stopped coming after lesson 9 and I haven’t received any from the prayer and affirmation, but did the prayers and affirmation cards. Is there anyway to get the lessons I have missed and get all of them for prayer and affirmation? Thank you so much.
Angelica says
